What We Believe... |
In essential beliefs -- we have unity.
Ephesians 4:4-6 "There is one body and one Spirit -- just as you were called to one hope when you were called -- one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."
In non-essential beliefs -- we have liberty.
Romans 14:1,4,12,22 "Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters... Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand... So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves."
In all our beliefs -- we show charity.
1 Corinthians 13:2 "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."
The Bible |
All Scripture, 66 books, is verbally inspired as originally written and is infallible & inerrant. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:21; Mt.. 5:18; 1 Cor. 2:13) |
God |
There is one living and true God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (MT 28:19, 2 Cor 13:14; Dt. 6:4; Is 43:10-11) |
Jesus Christ |
Is God (Jn.. 1:1-14; Heb.. 1:8; Titus 2:13) Was born of a virgin (Is 7:14, Mt. 1:18-25; Lk. 1:26-38) Was Tempted (Heb. 2:18, 4:15) Rose bodily from the dead & ascended to God the Father. (Mt. 28, Mk 16, 1 Cor 15, Ro. 1:4) Will return: First, for the "dead in Christ" who will be resurrected bodily; and for those who are alive at His coming. |
Holy Spirit |
The Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Son. (Acts 5:3,4). He convicts the world of sin, unrighteousness, and judgment (Jn. 16:8-11). He leads men to respond to the Gospel, into the fellowship of the church. He comforts, sustains, empowers and sanctifies the faithful, and guides them into all truth (Jn. 17:7,12,13; 14:26). He baptizes at conversion. (1 Cor 12:13) |
Man |
All men inherit a depraved nature and are lost sinners in need of salvation (Ro. 3:9-19; Eph 2:1-3) |
Salvation |
God has provided salvation through offering His Son on the cross of Calvary, and allowing His blood to be shed to pay for our sins (Ro. 3:25, Heb. 9:22) We're saved when we confess that we are sinners, trust Christ as Savior & Lord. Salvation is by grace through faith. (Ro. 3:24, 4:5, 10:9-10, Eph 2:8-9) |
Security |
Because God is faithful & true the believer's salvation is secure. (Ro. 8:35-39, Phil 1:6, 1 Jn. 5:10-12). Faithful men are secure in Christ. (Jn. 10:28-29) |
Future State |
The saved go to heaven for eternity immediately upon death. (Jn. 4:14, 5:24, Eph 2:7, Job 19:25-27, Phil 1:21-23). The unsaved enter eternal punishment in hell immediately upon death. (Jn. 5:28-29, Mt. 25:46, Lk. 16:23, 2 Thes. 1:8-9, Heb. 9:27, Rev 20:10,15) |
Character and Conduct | The grace of God teaches us to "live soberly, righteously, and Godly. (Titus 2:13) "Looking for that blessed hope" of His returning for us. (Titus 2:13) Setting our "affection on things above, not on things on earth." (Col. 3:2-3; I Jn. 2:15-17) Living a life of separation from the world. (2 Cor 6:14-18) We believe in separation "unto God". (Ro. 1:1, 16:17; 2 Cor 6:17-18; 2 Thes. 2:15, 3:6, 1 Tim 6:3,5) |
Worship |
It is the duty and privilege of man, who in the presence of God, bows in adoration, humility, & dedication. It is essential to the life of the church, the assembling of the people of God, Christian fellowship & spiritual growth. (Heb. 10:24-25; Ps 29:2; Ps 95:6; Phil 2:10) |
Communion |
We celebrate Christ's death and resurrection until He returns. (1 Cor. 11:23-24; Acts 2:42-47; Mt. 26:26) |
Baptism |
Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as a public testimony to faith in Christ, and the symbolic joining with Christ in His death & resurrection. (Ro. 6:1-11, Mt. 28:19, Acts 8:36-39) |
